Hybrid Training for Fat Loss Anyone?
Hey guys,
Welcome back! As I've mentioned on my earlier post, I'll be heading off to Perhentian Island in a month's time and my training has been getting more intense every week. I just came out of a 3 month bulking phase with some added muscle back into my scrawny frame. After coming out of the phase, I ended up with 72kg overall weight with 14% body fat. That's a 7kg increase since December 2010. Not too shabby eh? :P
However, I can't show up in an island carrying this big belly! I was reading about a lot of articles on fat loss and it seems that most of these guys were having problems like losing muscle, having less energy etc... I guess its because of all the calorie restrictions. Well, I can't let that happen to my valuable 7kgs of hard earned mass.
Then, I stumbled on this program which was recommended by Vince by the way. It is a program by New York’s Premier Fat Loss Expert and Fitness Model John Romaniello.
Check out this guy's abs dude!! O_O
He calls it : FINAL PHASE FAT LOSS
After picking it up and reading it, the program actually emphasizes on our hormones and how to do specific workouts to produce more hormones like Testosterone, IGF-1 (Growth Hormone), Leptin to battle off those bad guys like Cortisol, Estrogen (for guys) and more catabolic hormones... Very interesting stuff! Especially for those of you who seem to have difficulties losing the last few pounds of fat that makes your six pack visible.
John also talked about how these bad hormones have a certain habit of staying in our troubled areas like belly, glutes (ass), chest and thighs and he also has an interesting theory on how to "spot reduce" fat in specific troubled area. AWESOME! Just what I needed!! Now for you guys out there who had made some research stating that spot reduction is impossible, I had the same thinking too... but after reading the manual, the theory of it seems realistic, which is why I've decided to pick up a copy and try it out for myself.
I've just finished reading the manual yesterday and will be heading to the gym in a couple of hours to try his program out with only 4 weeks to go, let's hope that I can melt off those Fat in my mid section as much as possible.
Stay tuned for my workouts on this program, I'm trying to take some short clips on the routine and post it here, but first, need to find a cameraman / lady..... :)

Signing out for now,
Terry

Deadline : Perhentian Island Diving Trip
Hey guys!
Few months ago, me and my friends decided to plan a trip to an island east coast of Peninsular Malaysia called Perhentian Island. It is one of the most beautiful island I've visited so far in my lifetime. We are all planning to get our PADI Advance Diver course there on the end of April 2011. A buddy of mine owns and operates a Scuba Diving shop in the island called Urban Island Divers. Very humble and honest establishment with brand new equipment and stuff!! :)
This was taken last year when my friends were taking their PADI open water certification
If you haven't noticed, I'm the short one behind on the far left... :P
The time we confirmed this trip was just after our trip to an island in Thailand called "Koh Lipe" meaning Lipe Island which was somewhere around December 2010 which only gives me like 4 months to get my body "beach ready" :)
On top of that, I've stopped training for about 6 months already... -_-|||. I've lost all the mass I built before and gained hellalotof FAT in my mid section. After getting my measurements, I was at 65kgs, and about 18% body fat. ......~sigh~.....
SO I told myself, get off your fat ass and start going back to the gym!! At least I have a goal to work on now. If you've read my earlier posts, you can see I'm a big fan of Vince Delmonte's work and have been reading and following his advice and updates till now,... He has a very interesting program called "Maximize Your Muscle" and was going very cheap on January ( I guess Jan is THE month whereby everyone tries to make their new year's resolution to lose fat, gain muscle, get fit bla bla...).
The program lasts for 16 months (that's right guys, MONTHS, not days) and in order to not let your body adapt to the work stress, Vince changes the workouts every MONTH! This makes the routine fresh and motivating. It also makes me stay committed to my body and the lifestyle I want.
Although the program is now closed and will only re-open in 2012, you can still check out the website HERE
Anyway, I will be talking a lot more about the program in later posts and will also attach my before and after pics (just have to scour through my hard drive and find them first :p )
GOALS WITHOUT DEADLINES ARE DREAMS!
Regards,
Terry
